60th Anniversary of Cobleskill Regional Hospital

Affordable, quality healthcare remains a high priority for our communities.

Part of this includes maintaining primary care facilities as well as other critical healthcare institutions in our region.

With the financial pressures of the recession and shifting sands in the industry triggered by the Affordable Healthcare Act, many of our smaller, rural hospitals have been challenged to maintain critically needed services to often lower-income and disadvantaged populations.

With that said, my wife Bridget and I were pleased to join Cobleskill Regional Hospital (CRH) in celebrating 60 years of service to the people of Schoharie County and nearby communities.

Working in partnership with the Bassett Healthcare Network, CRH has been able to expand primary and specialty care services as well as steadily enhance its ER and inpatient capabilities.  Led by CEO- Eric Stein and the Board of Trustees Chair, Barbara DiCocco, the Hospital continues to help meet community health needs and remains an important contributor to the area's quality of life.  I am pleased to serve with both of them as a CRH Trustee and continue to bring insights from this experience back to Albany as I work with my colleagues to address programs, policies and funding that affect our collective ability to provide affordable, accessible health care across the state.
